On Retreat at Dimensions Algonquin Highlands
We are pleased to share a new short video about Dimensions Algonquin Highlands with you. This micro doc follows a small group of guests on their Ascend Retreat and conveys what it’s like to come here for a healing retreat with a cannabis-based psychedelic plant medicine ceremony.
An important goal in making this video was to answer some of the questions potential guests have about what we’re offering. Psychedelic retreats are a relatively new phenomenon; the way we do it at Dimensions is thoughtful, carefully structured and designed by our whole team. We wanted to take you behind the scenes to get a sense of who we are and what it’s like to experience a retreat with us in deep nature, in Algonquin Highlands.
Videographer Zach Ramelan shot and edited our video, and we truly feel he has captured the experience. Zach came to Dimensions a few weeks before shooting the video and participated in every aspect of a retreat. When the time came to capture it on camera, he was able to create footage that authentically communicated the guest experience. From his firsthand experiences, he had a deep sense of our philosophy, right down to how we plan our meals, why we have a therapy dog on site, and why we immerse ourselves in nature and do bodywork in the days leading up to the plant medicine ceremony.
The participants who graciously agreed to be in the video came from different walks of life, including organic farming, teaching yoga, academia, coaching, trend forecasting, and journalism. Notably we were joined by some friends from Othership, in Toronto, a social bathhouse and breathwork centre in Toronto whose philosophy dovetails with ours in many ways, as well as members of the farm, Merkaba Acres who grow and supply us with the organic foods our chef cooks with. The guests you’ll see in the video had different starting points in relation to their own healing journeys and experiences with cannabis-based psychedelic healing. By the end of the retreat, they had formed a close and compassionate community and reported feeling a heightened sense of well-being and transformative shifts in perspective.
