Meet the Leadership Team at Dimensions Algonquin Highlands

Donald Currie, RP
Clinical Director, Dimensions Algonquin Highlands
I am a registered psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience in the field of therapy and I lead the retreat programming at Dimensions Algonquin Highlands. Through my own personal healing and therapy, I was inspired to become a psychotherapist so I could help others to recover from trauma and improve their mental health. Since 2001, I have been in private practice in Toronto and a core team member of Helix Healthcare, a clinic specializing in addiction and mental health. At Dimensions my clinical work focuses on healing through somatic and trauma therapies that are evidence-based and supported by neuroscience research. Fun fact: My early years spent growing up in Northern Ontario led me to an interest in music and theatre. This love of music is still present, and I incorporate music and sound therapy into my therapy practice.

Laura Banyai
Assistant Lodge Manager, Dimensions Algonquin Highlands
Laura Banyai is a customer service and administrative professional. She draws on her expertise in human resource management and hospitality to foster a healthy team culture and enhance the guest experience. A seasoned leader in operational management, Laura has a proven track record working within start-up organizations and small businesses. Also a designer and artist, she recently completed her studies in Design and Fibre Arts. In her on-site role at Dimensions Algonquin Highlands, Laura is dedicated to cultivating a collaborative team environment.

Miriam Echeverria
Executive Chef, Dimensions Algonquin Highlands
Born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico, I moved to Canada in 2008 where I swiftly made my entrance into the Toronto culinary scene. I was named “One of the reasons to love Toronto” by Toronto Life magazine and one of the best female chefs in the city. As founder of Cheffing4Good, a non-profit organization in support of women in need, I host charitable, plant-based dinners in collaboration with other women in the industry. Fun Fact: I am passionate about pottery and make my own plates and pots at home!

Eric Dawson
Property and Activities Manager
Throughout my life, I have felt most at peace when doing something immersed in nature. Whether wandering below a forest canopy, swimming in a lake, or hiking up a snow-capped mountain, healing happens in nature. At Dimensions Algonquin Highlands, I am excited to have the opportunity to help create a peaceful environment and facilitate outdoor activities that will promote well-being. Fun Fact: I am a cold-plunge enthusiast and encourage any guest to try it too.
